A Voice for
South Oshawa

Fiscal responsibility. Safer streets. A South Oshawa our families are proud to call home.

Voting Day October 26, 2026
Sid Goyal, Candidate for Oshawa Ward 5
Sid Goyal

About Sid

Representation. Roots. Results.

Siddharth (Sid) Goyal is running because representation matters, and because a mentor once challenged him to stop talking about leadership and start taking ownership.

Sid moved to Oshawa in 2019 and married into a Polish-Ukrainian family with over 50 years of roots in this city. Oshawa embraced him as a son-in-law, and now he wants to give back to the place he is proud to call home.

With an MBA from Ivey Business School and a decade-long career in technology and data analytics, Sid doesn't just see problems; he sees solutions. He'll bring data-driven decision-making to City Hall to optimize tax spending, improve road maintenance, and make Ward 5 work harder for its residents.

Sid's dedication to our community is rooted in his values of hard work and family. As the organizer of the "Ruck for Ram" food drive through the DIVYA Foundation, he puts those values into practice by supporting neighbours in need, regardless of their background.

"South Oshawa took me in as one of its own. Ward 5 deserves a councillor who knows these streets, listens at the door, and fights for this community every single day at City Hall."

Our Platform

Three Pillars for Ward 5

Practical priorities that put South Oshawa families first.

πŸ’°

Smart Spending at City Hall

Your taxes should work as hard as you do.

  • Line-by-Line Accountability Push for Ward 5 infrastructure to be prioritized in budget deliberations, and advocate for transparent spending reviews residents can actually follow.
  • Coffee with the Councillor Host regular community sessions to explain where tax dollars go and bring resident feedback directly to Council.
  • Smarter Service Delivery Advocate for better-coordinated city services that deliver real value, ensuring Ward 5 families get the quality and reliability they deserve from every dollar spent.
πŸ›‘οΈ

Safe Neighbourhoods

Safety means everyone belongs, and everyone has a path forward.

  • Compassionate Community Safety Push for better coordination between the City, police, and community outreach workers, so that people in crisis get connected to the right support. Strong patrols and compassionate outreach work together to keep Ward 5 safe for everyone.
  • Mental Health & Recovery Support Advocate for Ward 5 to be better served by mobile crisis response, addiction recovery resources, and wraparound supports. No one ends up on the street by choice. Sid will champion the services that help people find stability and a way back.
  • Smart Traffic Calming Advocate for targeted traffic calming measures on Ward 5's busiest cut-through streets, and push for data-backed speed enforcement reviews in our neighbourhoods.
🌊

The South Oshawa Standard

Championing Ward 5 as a premier destination.

  • Road Maintenance That Respects Residents Advocate for Ward 5 roads to be prioritized in the city's maintenance schedule, pushing for faster pothole repairs, better winter maintenance, and transparent reporting on where and when work is getting done.
  • Small Business Ambassadors Support and advocate for incentives and reduced red tape that help local shops and cafΓ©s thrive and build a distinct Ward 5 identity.
  • Clean Streets, Proud Neighbourhoods Push for more frequent litter pickup, better graffiti response, and a Ward 5 "Adopt-a-Road" program that keeps our streets clean and our community proud of where we live.
