Hello Oshawa

Welcome, everyone. My name is Sid Goyal, and I created this blog as part of my website to have longer-form policy discussions with residents.

As I continue knocking on doors and speaking with people across the community, certain themes are starting to emerge. Many of the challenges residents face are complex, and in most cases people are already doing their best to address them. At the same time, I believe there are some low-hanging fruit solutions that can be advocated for and implemented relatively quickly.

The goal of this blog is to help raise awareness about practical steps people can take today to improve their lives and strengthen our community. From time to time, I will also share useful resources, ideas, and insights that I come across through my conversations with residents, community organizations, businesses, experts, and other stakeholders.

I hope this becomes a place for thoughtful discussion.

One reason I chose a blog format is that social media often rewards noise over substance. Social media is useful for sharing updates and bringing attention to important topics, but people who want to understand an issue in depth deserve a place where they can explore the details. I will continue using social media to promote these posts, but the full discussion will live here.

In the interest of transparency, I also want to be clear that I use AI tools to help summarize, organize, and refine my writing. However, every opinion expressed on this blog is my own. These are my thoughts, my views, and I take full responsibility for everything I publish. If I write it, I stand behind it.

I encourage everyone to participate in the discussion and share their perspectives in the comments. I welcome constructive criticism, disagreement, and challenging questions. Unless a comment is completely unrelated to the topic or inappropriate, I intend to leave it visible. That includes comments that question my ideas, my qualifications, or my suitability for public office. Transparency and accountability are important, especially for those seeking to serve the public.

Thank you for visiting, and welcome again to the blog. I hope you’ll join the conversation and use this space to become more familiar with my policy positions and vision for our community.
